I need more time to file my taxes and I think I will owe the Department. What should I do?

You may need to file an extension of time to file. You can do this by filing Indiana's extension  Form IT-9, or by accessing the Department's online ePay service.

Look at Information Bulletin #18 and www.in.gov/dor/3832.htm for more information, or contact the Department.

Please note, properly filing an extension of time to file only allows you to file your tax return after the original due date, April 15. Any payment made when you file your tax return is subject to interest.
