There is no one type of cyber threat, and no one type of cyber criminal. Many cyber crimes are opportunistic, indiscriminate, and cast a wide net, and small organizations without a robust cybersecurity program are especially vulnerable to attacks. New data from Symantec's 2016 Internet Security Threat Report shows that last year, phishing campaigns targeted small businesses 43% of the time. It's not about who you are but what the cyber criminals are targeting: your money. Ransomeware in particular is a growing concern for critical infrastructure organizations and public safety officials.
