Is there a drug prescription program available for senior citizens?

Yes. Medicare Part D. For information regarding Medicare Part D plans check your Medicare and You Handbook or call Medicare at 1-800-633-4227 or visit the Medicare.gov website.

Hoosier Rx is Indiana's State Pharmacy Assistance Program (SPAP) that helps low-income seniors pay their Medicare Part D (prescription drug plan) monthly premiums.

The requirements are:

· Must be Indiana residents, age 65 or older

For a single person, that limit is $18,060, or $24,276 annually for a couple.

· Have received a "Notice of Award" or "Notice of Denial" for Medicare Extra Help from Social Security

· Be enrolled in a Medicare Part D plan that works with HoosierRx
