Why would the State of Indiana come up on my credit report?

It could be for one of the following reasons:

  • Delinquent payment of state taxes; a hospital bill, hospital indigent care program, Family Social Services program/issue.
  • For tax issues call the Indiana Department of Revenue, Collection Department at 317-232-2165, or e-mail taxpayer assistance.
  • If it is a child support issue, contact the Kids' Line at 800-840-8757. For Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or food stamp issues contact FSSA, Division of Family Resources at 800-403-0864.
