Is my long term care policy good if I move to another state?
Yes. A long term care policy whether it is a traditional or Partnership policy is portable and will pay for services in other states regardless of where you purchased it. The asset protection feature is only an issue if you are applying to Medicaid. Currently, Indiana and Connecticut honor each state's asset protection on a dollar for dollar basis under a Partnership policy. Several other states are developing Partnership programs and Medicaid asset protection could be honored by additional states on a dollar for dollar basis.
